Last Sunday, I was asked to shoot a cycling event for Bespoke Biking, a Winchester-based client who operate tours and events around the local area, as well as bike rentals and repairs. The ‘Countryside Cycle Day’ was a guided tour around the beautiful Easton village and Avington Park area, and I was tasked with capturing ride participants in action on the road.

[Above: Lucky Shot! As I was driving around, scouting for good roadside locations to shoot from, I ended up behind this wonderful vintage car as it approached Avington Park (a huge 17th Century mansion). My camera was on the seat next to me, so I grabbed it, balanced it on the steering wheel with one hand and blind-fired a couple of shots. Luckily my focus point was in the right place, and my windscreen wasn’t too dirty, so I came away with a scene that couldn’t be more English if it tried!]

[Above: Bespoke Biking even have a couple of tandems that you can hire. These guys were obviously enjoying the bicyle-made-for-two experience]

[Above & Below: These guys weren’t part of the organised ride, but they certainly looked the part as they sped by.]

[Above: Bespoke Biking are keen to encourage everyone, young or old, to get out and have fun on their bikes.]

[Above & Below: The resident Highland Cattle didn’t seem too bothered about cyclists – although the one below stuck his tongue out as a vintage car slowed to take it’s photograph.]
